He comes from a long tradition of practitioners. His father practiced for fifty years and owned an Herbal pharmacy in New York's Chinatown for the past twenty years. Having been around Herbs since he was born & surrounded by Chinese medicine while growing up in the U.S., gives him a unique perspective from which to translate alternative approaches to health and well-being to the layperson. Diem is honored to continue his family's tradition of healing. He feels that the addition of Western diagnosis and modalities further enhances and expands the options for treatment strategies, all the meanwhile honoring the traditional concepts. This synergetic approach ensures that he will be able to carry on the tradition into the 21st century.

Karen Ortiz, MSTOM
Karen Ortiz found her way to Traditional Chinese Medicine by way of an injury while working as a Respiratory Therapist. Her initial course of treatment allowed her to learn the benefits of acupuncture. This experience peaked her curiosity, and she decided to further explore the realm of Traditional Chinese Medicine.
Through her studies and clinical training, Karen has recognized that Chinese medical theory coupled with her background in western medicine allows her to provide an expanded treatment model for her patients which results in more comprehensive care.
Karen received her Masters Degree in Traditional Oriental Medicine (M.S.T.O.M) at Pacific College of Oriental Medicine in New York City. With more than a decade in practice, Karen has treated many ailments, but her main focus has been on fertility for men and women, treatment for cancer and HIV patients, mental and emotional disorders and pain management. She believes that Acupuncture can be used as a form of preventive care for well-being and as complementary care during the treatment of disease.
Karen is licensed to practice in New York and is Board Certified both in Acupuncture and Chinese Herbalist as a Dipl. of Oriental Medicine by the NCCAOM (National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine).
